CAREGIVER

Position: Caregiver / Direct Care Worker

Schedule: Flexible; schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on participant needs.

Position Summary:

HR Alliance is seeking compassionate, dependable, and responsible Caregivers to provide person-centered support to individuals who require assistance with activities of daily living and community participation.

The Caregiver will work directly with participants and, when applicable, their families or authorized representatives to promote independence, dignity, safety, choice, and quality of life. Services must be provided in accordance with the participant's authorized service plan, established policies, and applicable program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist participants with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene, as authorized.
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and household activities related to the participant's care.
• Provide companionship, supervision, and person-centered support.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and other physical support when required and properly trained.
• Support participants with community activities, appointments, errands, and other authorized activities.
• Encourage independence by allowing participants to make choices and participate in daily activities to the greatest extent possible.
• Follow the participant's authorized service plan and instructions provided by the participant/employer or authorized representative.
• Complete required timesheets, electronic visit verification (EVV), service documentation, or other records accurately and on time.
• Immediately report injuries, incidents, suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other health and safety concerns according to HR Alliance procedures.
• Maintain participant confidentiality and safeguard personal and health information.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with participants and their families.
• Complete all required orientation, training, certifications, and ongoing compliance requirements.
• Perform only duties that are authorized and within the Caregiver's training and assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must meet applicable program and employment eligibility requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous caregiving, direct-care, home-care, or healthcare experience is preferred but may not be required.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Compassionate, patient, reliable, and respectful.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Ability to complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
• Must successfully complete applicable background checks and other required screenings.
• Must complete required orientation and training before independently performing duties requiring specific training.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license may be required depending on the participant's needs and assigned duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Caregiver, Direct Care Worker, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Assistant, or similar position.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, older adults, or individuals requiring assistance with daily living.
• Familiarity with person-centered planning and self-directed services.
